The time is ticking again, and surprisingly enough, the Internet has prepared a handful of new surprises in the meantime. Probably one of the most anticipated and revolutionary that is sure to reshape and realign the development on the Big web and might as well be called the innovation of the decade, is Wolfram’s WolframAlpha web search engine.

Some of you, mostly those that are in Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics related studies have already met Wolfram Mathematica, a great piece of software that’s become quite indispensable in my every day’s life. And now, we can finally enjoy all of the beauties, functionality and computational power of its algorithms on the Internet, for free. But the awesomeness doesn’t stop here, it continues with the search engine’s capability to serve you some cold facts about countries, finances, cities, important personalities and even more, all enriched with additional charts and data to help you get what you want. The usefulness of WolframAlpha is so enormous, that there’s been already released a Firefox plugin, that let’s you integrate Wolfram’s search in your Google home page. Now what do you want more for a perfect browsing experience?

As good as it may seem, it gets even better. This is not the only newcomer on the scene in the past few weeks. A few days ago Google announced a new real-time interface called Google Wave, that is said to be available to public later this year. But what is it all about? Wave is essentially a clone of Facebook’s home page and twitter, but with a much more rich interface and a wider range of applicability. Basically it’s a place where your and your friends’ s e-mail, pictures, videos, music, maps and more will be merged in a time-wave, enabling you to engage in real time conversations.

Have you ever wondered how it feels like to be a fish, or even better, a dolphin? To glide elegantly amid the alternating sea currents and swim silently through the waves. Well, it looks like this dreams will soon be possible according to Ted Ciamillo and his colleague Frank Fish, who are developing a pedal-powered submarine that resembles a giant fish in every aspects, and most importantly in the propulsion system. Ted says he will attempt to cross the ocean in his submarine and plans to venture on this exciting journey as soon as the vessel is perfected.

The submarine’s design however, is not raising attention only among those who are attracted by extreme water sports, but also among marine biologists.

The reason for this is because such a submarine will be the first one to offer a truly silent and non intrusive way of exploring sea life in places that were otherwise hard to access by scuba divers. And secondly, because of its propulsion system that copies the tail movements of dolphins, which offer far greater speeds than any human swimmer could have ever achieved, even about 54 km/h! And there’s more! Ciamillo is already selling fins, shaped like dolphin tails that can help you achieve an astonishing speed of over 13 km/h. No fish can escape us now!
