Towards the light

It’s evening and the weather is cloudy. Only a few hours ago there was sun shining on the streets, and now it’s getting darker. The clouds don’t really have anything to do with all the darkness, since it’s almost night already, but they contribute a lot to my false illusion of a good day. I hate clouds. I’m used to sun and wind, but not to constant rain, fog and lack of natural light.
You might have guessed already that right now, I’m not at home. And that’s correct! I’m in Ljubljana, our country’s capital city, because it’s here where my college is. And what’s even more funny, and weird to some extent, is the fact that I’m only around 100 kilometers away from my home, and the weather is already completely different. Some say this is a privilege for a small country, lying on the edge between the mediterranean and continental climate, and thus offering a wider range of possible allocations for people with different weather and geographical preferences about the locations they’d like to live, however this is not always true. Sure, tourists love it, because they don’t have to travel long distances to enjoy skiing, skydiving, extreme alpinism or simply go swimming. But if you’re born in the coastal area, and you’re used to mild winter temperatures, no snow and sun in abundance, then it’s not easy to accustomate to be greeted by fog in the morning and by clouds and rain during the day.
But as always, there is light in this seemingly dark ambient of our largest city. I don’t know yet what it is, but I’ll find it. The light in the distance has already been lit, all I have to do now is to follow.
